YU Adventures Discipleship Camp 2027
February 12-16, 2027 | Frontier Lodge, near Nordegg, Alberta | Grades 9-12 | $650
What is this?
You’ve probably heard a lot about following Jesus. But what does it actually look like on a Tuesday afternoon at school, at home with your family, or with a friend who’s going through a hard time?
YU Adventures Discipleship Camp is five days in the mountains with other students from across our communities. We’ll learn what it means to follow Jesus, then practise it together right away. We don’t want you to just hear it. We want you to come home knowing how to live it.
What will the week look like?
Mornings: Encounter and learn.
Start the day with teaching, guided personal time with God, and small group discussions about what it means to follow Jesus.
Afternoons: Put it into practice.
Get outside for adventure, serve others, or step into a leadership challenge. After every big activity, your group will talk about what you saw, felt, and learned. That conversation is part of the lesson.
Evenings: Worship and connect.
Worship together, hear stories, pray in your cabin circles, and finish the night around the campfire.
What makes this camp different?
- Adventure with a purpose. The hike, the climbing wall, and the service projects are where the morning’s teaching gets tested.
- Real responsibility. You might lead a game, read Scripture, pray out loud, guide a service team, or share your story. You’ll be doing, not just watching.
- A healthy stretch. You may be pushed a bit outside your comfort zone in your faith this week, and that’s on purpose. You’ll have a small group and a leader beside you the whole way.
Who is this for?
Any student in grades 9-12 who wants to grow in their faith and know what it looks like to live it out, whether you’ve followed Jesus for years or are just curious. Space is limited, so apply early.
What does it cost?
The cost is $650, which covers accommodation, meals, activities, teaching, transportation, and a camp T-shirt. After camp, there’s also a reunion event.
Can’t cover the full cost? We’ve got options.
Fundraise. Many students raise part or all of their camp fee by reaching out to family, friends, and their church community. We’ll give you a sample fundraising letter, a pledge sheet, and an online donation form to make it easy, and we’ll check in with you along the way.
Apply for the YU Adventure Scholarship. If cost is a barrier, you can apply for scholarship support. Money should never be the reason a student misses out. We will be sending out a confrimation email with the application link if you have been accepted.
